Birks, biggest Canadian jewellery retailer, expands with a new location and a whole new look in Yorkdale, one of the premier fashion destinations in Toronto.
Located in the shopping centre’s brand-new section, Birks Yorkdale is the 39th store in the retail chain and the first store opening in four years for BIRKS, which celebrated its 125th anniversary last year.
The 2,700 square-foot store represents the new face of Birks, founded in 1879 by Henry Birks, - contemporary, stylish and inspired.
Designed by Oberto Oberti Architecture & Urban Design Inc., it boasts an impressive two-level storefront made entirely of glass that exemplifies Birks’ new design direction, overseen by creative director Holly Brubach.
"We are very pleased to show our customers this new face of Birks," said Birks’ President and CEO, Tom Andruskevich. "We have a renewed focus on luxury, style and design combined with exceptional customer service. This beautiful store is the embodiment of those elements and the brand."
The Yorkdale store showcases new collections in fine jewellery from Birks own award-winning designers, its signature designers - Michele della Valle, Esty and Toni Cavelti - as well as international brands such as Kwiat, exclusive to Birks in Canada.
The newest Birks store carries the entire line of Birks product including diamond jewellery, gold, pearls, silver, watches and timepieces, gifts, flatware, crystal and items for the home.
A watch boutique situated at the back of the store will showcase a tasteful selection of Birks signature watches and designer collections from Cartier, Baume & Mercier and Tag Heuer.
