Jessica Simpson Speechless as Singer Lost her Voice

Jessica Simpson has (mutely) confirmed via publicist, Rob Shuter, to AP Tuesday that she indeed lost her voice.

Right when Jessica Simpson was set to go on a much-awaited promotional tour for her new album, "A Public Affair," she found herself in a trouble that affects her life more than recent divorce. Somehow Jessica Simpson lost her voice.

No, it's not a cruel joke. Jessica Simpson has (mutely) confirmed via publicist, Rob Shuter, to AP Tuesday that she indeed lost her voice, saying "She's been ordered to rest... She can talk, she can croak out a few sentences. She sounds a little off, but you know, she can't sing."

Jessica Simpson currently has "a strain, a bruise on her vocal cord," said Shuter, adding that her condition is expected to hopefully improve by the end of the week.

The incident has forced Jessica Simpson to cancel many of her scheduled appearances until she gets her voice back.

Shuter remains optimistic, saying his client is "trying."

"Everybody is hoping and keeping their fingers crossed," he said.

Even speechless, the singer did make an appearance on MTV, where she introduced a few music videos and autographed CDs for her fans.

Jessica Simpson co-wrote 9 out of the 13 tracks on her newest album "A Public Affair" which was produced by the most sought-after producers in the business: Lester Mendez, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Cory Rooney, Scott Storch and Stargate.

The album is a true reflection of Jessica Simpson's growth both personally and musically, showcasing her diverse range of artistic influences. There are up-tempo dance tracks, ballads, and a beautiful cover of "Let Him Fly" originally recorded by her personal favorite, Patty Griffith.

Jessica Simpson started her multi-platinum musical career in 1999 with her major label debut, Sweet Kisses which spawned the smash single, "I Wanna Love You Forever." Jessica followed up with Irresistible in 2001.

By her third album in 2003, Jessica Simpson showcased her maturity with the triple platinum In This Skin which spawned hits like "With You" and the reworked Berlin track, "Take My Breath Away."
