Pink Floyd - Roger Waters, Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright - will reunite for the first time in almost a quarter of a century at Live 8 concert in London, it has been confirmed.
Pink Floyd will perform together for the first time in almost a quarter of a century. Roger Waters has not performed with other Pink Floyd members Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Richard Wright since 1981.
Pink Floyd performance is part of a multi-city event aimed at raising the public's awareness of global poverty and debt.
Speaking about the reunion, Dave Gilmour said: "Like most people I want to do everything I can to persuade the G8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and increased aid to the third world.”
Pink Floyd is joining a star-studded lineup at London’s Hyde Park July 2nd, which includes Madonna, REM, U2, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Coldplay and Robbie Williams.
Pink Floyd, famous for their film The Wall, in which Bob Geldof appeared, formed in the mid-1960s. After their cult albums such as Dark Side of the Moon, the group split after clashes between Roger Waters and the rest of the band.
