Harry Potter Actor Killed in Bar Fight

Robert Knox, who will appear alongside Daniel Radcliffe in the new Harry Potter film, was stabbed to death in England.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince actor Robert Knox was stabbed to death after an attempt to save his brother from a knife attack in Kent, southeast England.

18-year-old Knox, who will be seen on the big screen as wizard Marcus Belby, sustained multiple stab wounds on Friday night after arguing with two armed men who had threatened his 17-year-old brother Jamie at the Metro Bar in Sidcup, Kent.

Four other teenagers who were drinking in the bar were stabbed.

Robert Knox, who will appear alongside Daniel Radcliffe in the forthcoming Harry Potter film, was immediately rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, southeast London, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Robert Knox was the 14th teenager to be murdered in London alone this year. The murder took place just a few miles from where Jimmy Mizen, a 16-year-old altar boy, was murdered two weeks ago while trying to shield his brother.

The police have started their inquiries into the murder. A 21-year-old man has been arrested.

"At this early stage, we retain an open mind as to any motive, and inquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the incident. We do not believe the incident is gang-related," Contactmusic quoted a spokesperson for the authorities as saying.

Meanwhile the executives at Warner Bros. Studio, which produces the Harry Potter movies, released a statement expressing their condolences to Knox's relatives.
