Hollywood's hottest couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt announced they would work together on a new movie project, Variety reports.

Angelina Jolie will star in the big-screen adaptation of "A Mighty Heart," by Mariane Pearl, the widow of a Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, a who was taken hostage and then killed by terrorists in Pakistan.

The book details Mariane's search for her missing husband. Brad Pitt will serve as the film's producer.

"I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book," Mariane told Variety.

"I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to."

Daniel Pearl was kidnapped by a militant group calling itself The National Movement for the Restoration of Pakistani Sovereignty.

Photos of Pearl handcuffed with a gun at his head and holding up a newspaper were attached. There was no response to pleas from Daniel Pearl's editor, and from his wife Mariane who was pregnant with their first child.

"A Mighty Heart" is expected to start filming by September.
