Natalie Portman has been unveiled as the actress set to play Indiana Jones' daughter in the fourth installment of the movie franchise.
Indiana Jones actress Karen Allen, who starred opposite Harrison Ford in Raiders of the Lost Ark 25 years ago, let slip the news at the media conference.
"I just heard Natalie Portman was cast as Indy's daughter."
Casting of Natalie Portman could be inspired by film producer George Lucas who was responsible for casting both Harrison Ford and Natalie Portman in Star Wars.
Indiana Jones 4, scheduled to be released in 2008, will be the fourth in the Indiana Jones series of theatrical films. The film will be the fourth feature film about the adventures of the heroic fictional archaeologist Indiana Jones.
Although the official title has not yet been released, multiple news reports have referred to it as Indiana Jones and the Ravages of Time or Indiana Jones and the Lost Continent.
This film will likely be the final film in the series, as George Lucas stated in the May 2005 issue of Time magazine that he does not plan to make any more Indiana Jones films after this one.
