Cannes Festival Winners: Belgian Child Takes Palme D'Or
For the second time, Belgian filmmakers and brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne won the prestigious Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The Dardenne brothers received their award from Oscar Winners Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman.
Jim Jarmusch scored a Grand-Prix at Cannes with his “Broken Flowers,” a droll drama starring Bill Murray as an aging Don Juan in pursuit of the son he never knew he had.
Best Actress award went to Hanna Laslo for her performance in “Freezone” directed by Amos Gitai.
Tommy Lee Jones received top accolade for his performance in the “Three Burials of Melquades Estrada,” which he also directed.
Jury Prize went to “Shanghai Dreams” directed by Xiaoshuai Wang.
Robert Rodriguez was honored with Vulcain prize for his stylish artistic vision of Sin City in the special category established by France’s High Commission Of Superior Techniques in Image and Sound (Commission Supérieure Technique de l’Image et du Son.)
Woody Allen's “Match Point”, a comic drama starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Emily Mortimer, proved to be his most crowd-pleasing film in years, with some critics saying it would have been a key contender in the competition.
Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne previously won the Palme d’Or in 1999 for their teen drama “Rosetta”.
