Thomas Haden Church to Play Villain in Spider Man 3Thomas Haden Church has been named to play the Spiderman’s nemesis in the next installment of the Spider-Man movies.
Thomas Haden Church, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in Sideways, has been cast as Spider-Man's foe in the next episode of the Spider-Man adventure.
The film, again directed by Sam Raimi, will begin shooting early next year for a May 4, 2007 release.
No other information about the cast of the movie has been released. The identity of the villain is being kept secret by the movie studio.
Since his star-making role in Sideways, Church’s other film credits include “Spanglish”, “George of the Jungle”, “3000 Miles to Graceland”, “Tombstone” and “Rolling Kansas”. From 1990 to 1995, Church played Lowell Mather in the TV series “Wings”.
