Robots, from 20th Century Fox and the creators of Ice Age, was bumped to second place with around $21.8 million.
Also showing a bit of decrease was Vin Diesel's family comedy The Pacifier. It landed in the third spot with $12.5 million.
Disney's Ice Princess, starring Buffy's Michelle Trachtenberg as a mathlete-turned-skating sensation, debuted in fourth with just over $7 million.
Will Smith's Hitch held on to fifth this weekend with $6.6 million. The film has grossed nearly $160 million in six weeks of release.
Be Cool, MGM's Get Shorty sequel, was short this weekend, falling three spots to sixth with $5.8 million.
This year's Oscar’s best movie pick, Million Dollar Baby, ended the weekend with $4.1 million, enough for eight place.
In ninth, Diary of a Mad Black Woman picked up an addition $2.5 million.
Warner Bros.' Constantine, a big-screen adaptation of the Hellblazer comic, rounded out the top ten this weekend with $2.3 million.
