As I was browsing magazine isles recently, I couldn't help but wonder: Cameron Diaz smiling from the Seventeen glossy cover, and next to her, Mariah Carey sharing her insights about "Mean Girls" in Cosmo Girl.

Vogue was the less obvious of all, with Gwyneth Paltrow looking like Rembrandt's Flora.

"Are these magazines actually new?" commented my partner.

Apparently, they are. I humbly explained to him that Cameron Diaz, 32, was chosed to grace the teen cover due to the fact she's dating (and maybe even marrying) the teen idol Justin Timberlake.

But, as I discovered later at Seventeen website, Cameron Diaz actually started her modeling career at Seventeen in tender age of 16 - and she decided to share some insights of her early modeling days with this magazine.

And there are even some naive shots of blonde slender Cameron in awkward poses - hopefully she's not going to sue anyone now.

No less that further embracing teen culture, Cameron Diaz made a surprise appearance at Stanford University in Northern California yesterday, MTV reported.

Cameron Diaz talked with students of a class called Maintaining Sustainable Building Projectsabout the environment and about her experiences shooting the MTV series, "Trippin."

How educational.

But how exactly does matronly Mariah Carey relate to cherry-vanilla world of COSMO Girl?
