I think shoe designers should take a closer look at weather forecast and stop offering us suede and silk flats in late October.

I agree, when Valentino designed his calf-hair ballet slippers recently spotted on Mischa Barton, he could unlikely predict Katrina/Rita/Wilma danse macabre, less he took into consideration hundreds of shoe designers who followed his path and churned tons of sequined ballet slippers for their fall/winter collections.

All the recent bad weather means poor little precious flats will remain unworn in stylish boxes till spring. Buy some wellies instead, or more weather-proof Aquatalia boots. Or buy the fabric flats anyway and spend a fortune on taxi...
