Sturdy clothes for urban jungle on the runway during Mackage show of spring 2006 collection.

Mackage show started for me with an embarassement. There was a stylish store owner sitting right behind me; nothing wrong with that, except for the fact that three years ago I applied for a job in her posh boutique as a salesperson. And I didn't get a job, because, according to her, I was not knowledgeable enough.
Oh my. Thanks a lot, lady. If you did give me that job, I would be still selling $200 jeans instead of writing for my own fashion ezine.
Still blushed and hiding behind my bag, I wasn't able to concentrate on the show. Luckily, I didn't have to look twice to notice the details worth mentioning. Voluptious pockets on suede shorts. Frilly skirts made of supple silky leather. Massive beaten bronze buttons - man, these clothes must be heavy!
Overall, the Mackage for spring 2006 collection was charming. Delicate chiffon trim added some airy feel to otherwise heavy safari jackets and cargo pants made of sturdy suede and hide. However, linen skirts and shorts were quite right for the summer. Color palette of Mackage for spring 2006 collection remained neutral - beige, black and ecru - with a few baby blue pieces.
I can definitely see myself wearing it, and Mackage designs are destined to sell well.
And in the gift bag I found the cutest Foxy Originals necklace. I love my job!
