The Preloved show of spring 2006 collection left yours truly looking for fashion on the runway.

Eco-friendly label Preloved that specializes in re-modeling second-hand clothes presented a spring/summer collection which left many onlookers wondering if that was an actually new collection or the remix of "The Very Best."
Originally the theme of the Preloved spring 2006 show was supposed to be "Found Love" featuring real love letters and notes found in pockets of old clothes. The idea sounded fresh and exciting, even though the re-construction of clothes is nothing new. Ask Imitation of The Christ.
But then - suprise! - something didn't work out and only the name of the Preloved show remained from the original idea.
Preloved spring 2006 show opened with a dubious dance performance, and the whole collection looked quite eclectic and under-edited. The fun ideas - upside-down trench coat turned into a dress, mini skirts made of jeans' belts - could be more expressive and polished. Or left raw and undone, in Japanese way.
The models had a hard time walking in the ill-fitting shoes, which didn't add lustre to plain cotton tops and puffy skirts (yes, another trend to watch).
In general, yours truly found the Preloved spring 2006 collection was sort of thrown together from the last season leftovers. Indeed, Preloved has a solid clientele of Queen West West dwellers, and comfy non-pretentious pieces will surely sell well. Eventually.
