The 7-year-old nephew of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson died of multiple gunshot wounds, Chicago authorities say.

According to The Associated Press, Cook County spokesman Sean Howard said that Tuesday's autopsy Julian King's death was determined to be a homicide.

Police officials didn't say where the child suffered wounds or how long he had been dead, citing an ongoing Chicago police investigation.

Julian's body was found Monday in a white SUV.

He was missing for three days, after the bodies of Hudson's mother and brother were discovered in their Chicago home.

Julian is the son of Jennifer Hudson's sister, Julia Hudson.

Chicago police said the killings were "domestic related" and have been questioning William Balfour, the estranged husband of Julia Hudson (but not the father of Julian).
