Brad Pitt needs to practice safe parenting skills, as he neglected to put head protection on Zahara during a bicycle ride.
Dad-to-be Brad Pitt needs to practice safe parenting skills, as he neglected to put head protection on his 1-year-old adopted daughter Zahara during a bicyle ride in Langstrand, Namibia.
Brad Pitt biked with son Maddox Pitt-Jolie, 4, who indeed wore helmet and peddled a tricycle. However, 16-month-old daughter Zahara Pitt-Jolie was strapped to the star’s back in a blue baby backpack - no helmet in sight.
“Zahara needs a helmet and closed-toe shoes,” Debra Smiley Holtzman, author of “The Safe Baby” told Us Weekly.
“I highly recommend toddlers ride in a child trailer pulled by a bike. It’s more stable and secure,” she added.
Riding a bike with a baby in a backpack is dangerous, agreed Baby Talk senior editor Christina Vercelletto, adding, “It will affect your balance. The safest place for her would be in a toddler bike seat.”
Brad Pitt’s rep had no immediate comment on the incident.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are awaiting the imminent birth of their first biological child.
