Katie Holmes delivered a healthy beautiful baby girl and she is feeling fine, despite the controversy over the alleged silent birth procedure demanded by the Church of Scientology.
Tom Cruise earlier revealed that he planned on being in the delivery room supporting her in every way possible.
"I am going to be recording, holding hands - whatever it takes to make it comfortable, safe and as beautiful as possible (for her). I can't wait," he said while on set of his newest movie, Mission: Impossible 3.
Cruise's spokesman Arnold Robinson confirmed that the couple had "joyously welcomed" the arrival of their child, giving no other details of the birth, except "mother and daughter are doing well."
The super couple revealed Katie's pregnancy back in October 2005. At that time Katie Holmes's Dawson's Creek co-star Oliver Hudson said, "She almost seems born for motherhood. She's a nurturer. She's got mother qualities a lot of girls her age don't have."[89].
Katie Holmes gave birth to a daughter named Suri; in Hebrew origin, the name means "princess," and in Persian, the name means "red rose." The exotic name also means "pickpocket" in Japanese.
At this moment acrowd of at least a dozen photographers gathered outside Cruise and Holmes' Beverly Hills, Calif., fighting to get a snapshot of a couple and a baby.
Some visitors leave flowers, notes and baby gifts outside the gates, ABC news report.
