Todd Wallace allegedly became angry and aggressive when Reese Witherspoon and her friends with children declined to be photographed on September 2 at the California Adventure theme park.
Reese Witherspoon was celebrating her six-year-old daughter's birthday, when, according to onlookers, Wallace became aggressive, striking a five-year-old girl with his camera and pushing two park employees out of the way.
Onlookers said that the photog became a real threat to the actress.
An employee accompanying the group that included Reese Witherspoon and children tried to get them away from the paparazzo but the photographer “pushed her with his entire body, not just once but numerous times," police sergeant Rick Martinez said, according to AP.
"He got close to the group and became aggressive, frightening members of the party."
Todd Wallace was cited for misdemeanor assault and battery. The photographer served more than four years in prison after a 1993 burglary conviction, according to state corrections records.
Reese Witherspoon, star of "Legally Blonde" and "Sweet Home Alabama," was swarmed by photographers when she left a Brentwood gym earlier in 2005.
Paparazzi then tried to force the actress off the road and surrounded her when she reached the gated community in West Los Angeles where she lives with her husband, actor Ryan Philippe, and their two children.
