U2 is getting legal revenge, as their ex-stylist returns to Bono a range of clothes, including a cowboy hat and earrings, according to court decision.
Lola Cashman, who also worked with Pet Shop Boys and George Michael, claimed she received all the memorabilia as a gift.
The judges didn't believe Lola Cashman who said that Bono had given her the Stetson hat and other items while dancing about in his underwear backstage following a concert in Phoenix, Arizona.
Bono, in his testimony, described the Stetson hat in particular as an "iconic" item in U2 history and something he would not give away. Bono noted it was the hat he wore during much of the 1987 tour.
When commenting the decision to file a claim, Bono said: "They sound like trivial items, they're really not. They are important items to the group and we take them seriously."
According to court judgment, Bono is getting back his Stetson hat (shown at photo), a pair of metal hoop earrings, a pair of black trousers and a green sweatshirt – all in a week’s period. She will also return all backstage photos she made.
Bono and the other members of U2 - guitarist The Edge, bassist Larry Mullen and drummer Adam Clayton -
filed a suit against Lola Cashman after she tried to sell the clothes and photos at a Christie’s auction house in 2002.
