Irish rockers U2 launched a lawsuit against its former stylist Lola Cashman, who snatched a nice collection of memorabilia during her work on the U2 world tour in 1987.
In 2002 Lola Cashman tried to sell some of the items - including a Stetson cowboy hat, sweatshirt, trousers and earrings worn by Bono during the tour - at Christies auction house in London.
The items, including a hat and trousers worn by Bono and a number of photographs, are worth over $7,000.
At that time U2's lawyers halted the sale telling Christies that the memorabilia was stolen.
Bono said: "They sound like trivial items, they're really not. They are important items to the group and we take them seriously."
By the way, quite recently Bono has launched his
own line of fashion and accessories.
Apparently, Bono has other issues with Lola Cashman, who wrote in her unauthorized biography that Bono was obsessed with his weight.
Bono and other U2 members would testify that they had not given any of the items to Lola Cashman, who was also accused of claiming inappropriate expenses during the 1987 tour.
