Tom Cruise reportedly plans suing the British pranksters who squirted him with water from a water pistol masked as microphone to get footage for a television show.
Tom Cruise plans to sue a British TV crew who squirted him with water while filming a comedy show Balls of Steel.
The four men were arrested by London police.
The comedy show airs on BBC Channel 4. They constantly ambush celebrities with their water-pistol microphone, most recently Paris Hilton at the Cannes Film Festival.
They also squirted Sharon Osbourne in London earlier this month. In return she grabbed a champagne bucket full of ice and water and upended it on the cameraman.
No other charges were pressed.
Apparently, Tom Cruise wants to upend something stinkier on the pranksters. The star plans to sue the TV channel.
Tom Cruise’s sister and spokeswoman, Lee Anne De Vette, also a Scientologist, was quoted as saying: "Tom is not just going to forget about it."
"He wants to make sure we get to the bottom of it. We want to know who was involved and what it was all for."
It was for fun, wasn’t it?
Asked if they would consider legal action Lee Anne De Vette replied: "Tom does want to take action but we don't know precisely what until we know more about the people we are dealing with."
Channel 4 spokesman said that the water-squirting joke was not intended to cause offence and they would apologize to Tom Cruise for any offence caused.
According to The Times, he said: “We hope Tom Cruise will be able to see the joke in the spirit with which it was intended.”
Apparently, British sense of humour is too insulting for Hollywood.
