Kylie Minogue undergoes cancer treatment; this may compel her and boyfriend Olivier Martinez to wait with marriage and a baby.

Olivier Martinez, 39, was reported to have proposed to Kylie, as she was recovering from an operation to remove a lump from her breast.

Kylie Minogue's management, however, dismissed the reports she's agreed to marry her French lover.

Olivier's cousin, Stephane Martinez, revealed that the Kylie’s shock diagnosis had brought the pair closer together.

Martinez kept a constant vigil by Kylie’s bedside last week before and after her surgery, canceling all his work and filming commitments.

The actor was quoted as saying the couple had been planning to have a child, New Idea magazine reported.

"We were going to start working on it after the tour was over," the actor was quoted as telling the magazine. "Now it will be put off; not forever - we pray and hope - but for the time being."

A message posted on her Web site said Kylie Minogue "has friends and family around her, and her spirits are high."
