Kylie Minogue is recovering from breast cancer surgery in her hometown of Melbourne after a cancerous lump was successfully removed from her breast on Friday. Doctors are confident they had caught the disease early enough to prevent it from spreading.
The Daily Telegraph newspaper in Sydney printed a photo Monday of the singer wearing dark glasses and holding Martinez's hand as she left a Melbourne hospital.
According to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb.com), surgeon Jenny Senior at the St Frances Xavier Cabrini Hospital in Melbourne, says that the operation was a success and that Kylie should recover soon.
Senior says: "I am very pleased to be able to confirm that the operation was successful. I feel confident that we caught the cancer in time and that she is now on the road to complete recovery.
No details of her follow-up treatment have been released. Kylie may undergo months of intensive radiotherapy treatment to destroy any remaining cancer cells.
