Kylie Minogue started her battle with breast cancer two years ago, when she donated her clothing items for a charity auction in support of breast cancer research. Kylie’s bra was sold for US$5,685 to raise money to promote breast cancer awareness.

Kylie Minogue was prompted to campaign against the disease once her childhood idol, Olivia Newton-John, was diagnosed with the illness, according to media sources.

"Kylie is very much like Olivia Newton-John. Olivia has had breast cancer and dealt with it," music journalist Molly Meldrum told Sky News.

Same year Kylie Minogue’s father was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

"Women can also give themselves an advantage by being aware of any significant family history of the disease and keeping their doctor informed," said Dr. Lesley Walker, Director of Cancer Information for Cancer Research (UK).
