Teen star Lindsay Lohan became sick with exhaustion and was rushed to hospital while recording her new album and filming Herbie: Fully Loaded movie.

The “Mean Girls” star was recording her own music album alongside the movie. According to Contact Music, early morning starts, recording between takes and late finishes quickly took their toll on her health.

But Lohan, 18, admits the resulting spell in hospital was an opportunity for a well-earned break.

She explains, "I was just running myself down. It was too much and I couldn't handle it.

"It's sick, but I enjoyed it. It allowed everyone to see: guys, I can only handle so much. I just wanted to make everyone happy."
