Rod Stewart has never thought that age gap between him and Penny Lancaster who at 34 is 26 years his junior is a big deal.
Two years ago he said: "I'm not upset by what people say, except when it's personal. What pisses me off is they never have a go at Paul McCartney for marrying a younger woman.
The Do Ya Think I'm Sexy? singer says Sir Paul McCartney and his wife have a similar age gap and get away with it – “but they kill be because of Penny”.
Stewart said the former Beatle is taken more seriously because he has been knighted - and moaned that he has never been given an honor himself.
Rod Stewart, who has been married twice before, recently said to Hello magazine: "I left it this long because I wanted to get it right this time. I've never been happier and more in love than I am today."
The very next day after Rod Stewart proposed to Penny Lancaster, singer’s ex-wife Rachel Hunter who married Stewart in 1990 and split from him in 1999 spread the rumor that Lancaster accepted the Stewart’s proposal for financial reasons.
