The former pop princess opens up for MTV documentary, shedding light on her marriage to Federline and her current state of personal affairs.
Britney Spears says her life has been worse than a jail sentence, but she’s slowing recovering, according to an upcoming MTV special.
“Even when you go to jail, y’know, there’s the time when you’re gonna get out. But in this situation, it’s never ending. It’s just like the Groundhog Day,’” Spears, 26, admits in a new documentary, “Britney: For the Record.”
The former pop princess was tossed in the hospital for a mental evaluation in January.
The hospitalization resulted in ex-husband Kevin Federline gaining sole custody of their sons, Preston and Jayden.
Her father, Jamie Spears, also gained legal control over her affairs.
“I’m having to pay for it for a really long time,” the singer said. “If I wasn’t under the restraints that I’m under right now, I’d feel so liberated.”
In the documentary, Britney Spears speaks candidly about marrying Federline, a former dancer.
“I think I married for the wrong reasons. Instead of following my heart and doing something that made me really happy, I just did it for the idea of marriage and everything,” she said.
The documentary is based on footage that a camera crew shot while following the singer for a total of three months and will air Nov. 30 on MTV at 10 p.m.
