Maria Sharapova has gone public with a year-long romance with fellow tennis pro Andy Roddick.

The pair has managed to keep their relationship under wraps for some time, but last week, at the Zinc Lounge in Manhattan Beach, California, couldn't hide it any longer. They were "beside each other all night", an onlooker tells Us Weekly.

Andy Roddick, who used to date Mandy Moore, apparently wanted to keep the relationship out of the public eye until now as he felt Maria Sharapova, who's just turned 19, "was too young".

 

Which didn't stop her from being the highest paid female athlete in the world! Maria Sharapova is currently the fourth-richest international athlete, behind Formula One driver Michael Schumacher, MotoGP star Valentino Rossi and World Footballer of the Year Ronaldinho.

"It's never enough, I always look for more," maria Sharapova said, according to ITV, "When I was working my way to the top, I didn't say I wanted to be number two, I wanted to be number one in the world."

Maria Sharapova, however, thinks she has a good balance in her life and knows where her priorities lie, continuing: "At the end of the day, the thing that I get excited about is winning tough matches.

"That's what it's all about for me. As long as I have that feeling, I'm going to keep playing. When I don't have that inside of me, that's when I'll stop."
