Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes may wed after all, as several huge tents and outdoor chandeliers were spotted being erected at the Scientology Celebrity Centre in California.
A source is quoted by website MollyGood.com as saying: "I know that Tom and Katie have been there twice in the last week and now the centre is covered in tents and outdoor chandeliers. Huge planters are in the street to prevent anyone driving too close."
Will that be a "silent" wedding? In other words, would that be some sort of weird procedure for the nuptials? According to whatisscientology.org,
Scientology congregations celebrate weddings and christenings with their own formal ceremonies and mark the passing of their fellows with funeral rites. The protocol is very similar to weddings in other churches. There is a bridal procession, a father of the bride, a best man and traditional seating for family and friends. A wedding is considered an occasion for joyous celebration in Scientology, Family.com notes.
From the sounds of it, when Tom and Katie do get married, their wedding will be pretty traditional in nature.
Tom Cruise proposed to the former Dawson's Creek star - who gave birth to their first child, Suri, in April - in Paris last year. The increased speculation comes just days after Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes announced they will tie the knot at some point this year after the baby is born.
Tom Cruise's spokesman Paul Bloch said: "As far as I know, the plans are for late summer, maybe a bit later."
However, it has been claimed that Katie Holmes' devout Catholic parents will not attend the nuptials if the pair wed in a Scientology ceremony.
