Oscar winning actress revealed that the messy split from her last husband hurts her so bad she would rather stay in common-law union.
Even more, Halle admits she is completely happy in the relationship with her Canadian model boyfriend.
"I do have someone in my life who apparently is putting a sparkle in my eye and he is 10 years younger," the Mirror quoted her, as saying. "I feel good so I'm not worried about turning 40."
According to newsweek.com, Halle Berry has been telling interviewers that she is planning to adopt or conceive a child soon.
"I no longer have the need to be someone's wife. And I no longer have the need to feel validated through marriage," Halle Berry said with her trademark openness.
"My mother was alone and raised me. And I think I came out OK."
"I don't think you need a piece of paper for the child to feel loved or legitimate," the X-Men star added.
