Nicole Richie and Adam Goldstein, also famous as DJ AM, have been going out since 2003, reports the Daily Mirror. They got engaged in 2004.
Instead of using a diamond ring, Goldstein proposed to Nicole Richie with a sapphire ring, her birthstone.
In December 2005, Nicole Richie and Adam broke off their nine-month engagement, but they were publicly seen together again in early 2006.
"Of course I'm going to be there for her, and I'll be singing - there's no way I couldn't," said Lionel Richie, according to Ananova.com.
"I'm really happy that it's working out for her."
In early 2005, Nicole Richie received tabloid speculation of having an eating disorder.
"I've always been really skinny. I just went through a heavier stage after rehab and during Simple Life 1. Now I have a trainer and the weight has gradually come off," Nicole Richie said that time.
However, Nicole acknowledged in May 2006 that she was actually too thin and stated that she was on the path to gaining weight, adding that she was worried young girls would want to look like her.
Nicole Richie is currently starring in an ad campaign for elite shoemaker Jimmy Choo.
