Nicole Kidman has confirmed that she is engaged to country singer Keith Urban by calling him a "fiance" in public.

Nicole Kidman, 38, was yesterday asked if she was taking her boyfriend to a New York charity dinner she replied: "He's actually my fiance."

The confirmation of the engagement ends months of speculation about the couple. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have been dating for months but she has previously refused to even confirm they are an item.

 

Nicole Kidman was spotted wearing diamond ring on her left ring finger since they made their first public appearance in October 2005.

Nicole Kidman, Urban, and both sets of their parents met over Thanksgiving 2005, and Nicole Kidman spent Christmas 2005.At the time his spokesman rubbished engagement reports as "just rumors".

Nicole Kidman was married to Tom Cruise for 10 years until they divorced in 2000.
