Nicollette Sheridan, one of "Desperate Housewives," has split from her fiancee, Swedish actor Niklas Soderblom.

Sheridan, who plays Edie Britt on the hit ABC show, and suave actor have called off their much-publicized engagement, People magazine reported Wednesday.

Nicolette Sheridan and Niklas Soderblom have been dating for a year and a half, and became engaged last winter.

Nicolette Sheridan's publicist, Nicole Perna, said in a statement, "They ask that you respect their privacy at this time."

Nicolette Sheridan, 41, was nominated for a Golden Globe earlier this year for her role on "Desperate Housewives."

The actress, who plays the man-eating housewife Edie, is currently promoting lingerie brand Hestia.
