Tom Cruise has not paid any attention to would-be doubters of his engagement to Katie Holmes, branding her an exceptional woman.

"She's magnificent. I am so happy and I am not going to pretend or hide it or be shy. I'm having the best time and I'm really, really happy and I can't contain it," Cruise had said in one interview.

Tom Cruise added: "You can't think in terms of what are people are gonna do or gonna say... I want to share my life this woman, this woman is exceptional, she's special, she's extraordinary and I have great respect for her," reports Femalefirst.co.uk.

The Collateral star was always saying his only prerequisite for a partner is that she would need to be able to keep up with his fast-paced lifestyle.

Cruise says: "I'm concerned whether someone can keep up with me. I've got a fast life; I've got a lot going on."

Apart from Scientology, which obviously got its much-needed status boost form the couple, Tom and Katie do have other things in common?

Tom Cruise elaborated that the pair shared common interests, "We go scuba diving together. She likes all the stuff that I love to do, she's funny and smart."

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes first revealed their relationship in Italy and got engaged at Eiffel Tower in Paris. They have been secretly dating for a few months before announcing the engagement.
