However, The Question was popped atop the Eiffel Tower, which Cruise described as the most romantic place on Earth.
"Today is a magnificent day for me, I'm engaged to a magnificent woman," Tom Cruise said about his engagement to Katie.
Katie Holmes was all smiles and blushes sporting a massive diamond ring on her finger.
The Sun quoted Katie Holmes as saying earlier: "I'm so happy. I'm thrilled. I'm so in love with Tom and that's all that I care about. He's just the most amazing man in the whole world."
When asked about the wedding plans, Tom Cruise shyly replied: "We haven't discussed that -- one step at a time," he said. "We're not sure."
