Duran Duran, Shania Twain, 50 Cent and Ashlee Simpson lend support to Fashion Cares
Celebrity/designer jackets and one-of-a-kind experiences up for auction on eBay.ca
A denim jacket, inspired by rock star Tommy Lee and fashioned by Canadian designer Rebecca Szymczak, is just one of a number of celebrity-signed, specialty Levi's denim jackets being auctioned off at www.ebay.ca/fashioncares in support of this year's Fashion Cares 2005 M-A-C VIVA GLAM Bollywood Cowboy.
The auctions will also feature one-of-a-kind Fashion Cares experiences such as front row tickets to the show, early access to the Fashion Cares boutique and an opportunity to go backstage at this year's show to name a few. The 10-day auction begins on Thursday, May 12, 2005, and runs through June 6th, 2005, with new jackets and packages being added every week. All proceeds will go to support the AIDS Committee of Toronto.
The first lot of several celebrity/designer jackets available for auction comes from an eclectic mix of singers - from Tommy Lee, Shania Twain and 50 Cent to Duran Duran and Ashlee Simpson - and are fashioned by some of Canada's leading designers.
These jackets, and many others, will be featured as part of a window display at the Bay locations on Queen Street and Bloor Street, beginning May 13th, 2005.
New jackets will be put up for auction every week and will include celebrity-signed and inspired jackets from artists such as Celine Dion, Minnie Driver, The Dixie Chicks and Moby among many others, culminating with a Cher-inspired and autographed jacket, designed by Richard Madden, which will be on display at Fashion Cares 2005 M-A-C VIVA GLAM Bollywood Cowboy, on June 4th, 2005.
