Isaac Mizrahi Unveils Fashion Forward Doggy Adoption Vest
Mizrahi unveiled a colored rendering of the new doggy adoption vests for a new dog adoption program.
Animal Care & Control (AC&C), New York's largest pet rescue organization, and Biscuits & Bath, the leading provider of dog care services to New York's dogs and their parents, have joined forces to launch a new dog adoption program to help AC&C achieve its five year goal to end pet euthanasia. A launch party celebration of the new adoption program featured fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi, who adopted his dog from Biscuits & Bath.
The adoption dogs worn the trendiest vests designed by Isaac Mizrahi with a "Bow-wow-Bow" inspiration. The pink mesh jackets feature a grosgrain bow at the neck and will be worn by adoptable dogs as they take their daily walks to attract the attention of NYC residents looking for that special someone to share their life with.
"Everyone should understand the magic of dogs. I didn't know what love was till I got Harry; he showed me what companionship means," said Isaac Mizrahi. "We must all do whatever we can to make sure there are no more dogs without homes. Designing the adoption vest is my way of heightening awareness of this wonderful new adoption program."
Every animal adopted through the adoption program will receive a 6-month Biscuits & Bath membership worth $175 and free initial visits to the University Animal Hospital, Center for Veterinary Care or Park East Animal Hospital that include a one year 20% discount on all bills excluding catastrophic illness. All dogs will be vaccinated and spayed or neutered by AC&C before coming to Biscuits & Bath for the adoption program.
"The adoption program provides citizens the opportunity to adopt shelter pets in a much friendlier environment," said John Zeigler, proprietor of Biscuits & Bath. "With a fixed location at Biscuits & Bath, customers can visit adoptable dogs seven days a week in a comfortable retail store-front setting."
