Fight Premature Aging with Supplements

A healthy diet and key nutrients, like Vitamins C and E can boost immunity and enhance skin's health and appearance. Yet almost a third of women don't get enough Vitamin C, and 9 out of 10 Americans fail to get enough Vitamin E.

A healthy diet and key nutrients, like vitamins C and E, can boost immunity and enhance skin's health and appearance. Yet, almost a third of Americans don't get enough vitamin C - and 9 out of 10 Americans fail to get enough vitamin E. Both are important antioxidants that fight free radicals and promote healthy aging.

To protect your skin and promote healthy aging, begin on the inside with proper diet and nutrition. But, since many women lack essential anti-aging nutrients like vitamins C and E, supplements can help.

Registered dietitian and nutrition expert Rachel Agnew says that Vitamin C is important for our skin as much as for our hair.

"Make sure you're getting at least 500 milligrams of vitamin C everyday. Vitamin E also helps with the skin. I recommend taking at least 400 IUs a day," says Agnew.

Exercise, eating right, drinking lots of water and rest are also part of a healthy lifestyle. Agnew recommends women take Vitamin E soft gels and Vitamin C tablets, which contain the same vitamin C antioxidant power of eight oranges. Plus, studies show when taken together, the antioxidant benefits are even greater.
