Jessica Simpson's mom Tina revealed the 27-year-old star has secretly wed American football star Tony Romo whom she's been dating since last November.

When asked if Jessica was planning to marry Tony, Tina laughed: "Jessica is already married to Tony! What are you talking about?"

Jessica, who was previously married to singer Nick Lachey, giggled and added to gossip website TMZ.com: "Well I guess if my mom said it, it must be true!"

Earlier this year, Tony admitted he was thinking about marrying Jessica - but not yet.

The 27-year-old Dallas Cowboys star said: "I'm sure I'll get married one day. I don't know when though."

Tony's close friend Michael Starr also fuelled wedding rumours by saying: "I think they are going to get married."

Meanwhile, Jessica has reportedly splashed out $3.47 million on a mansion in the Forest Hills' gated community in Nashville, Tennessee.

The property, which is known as The Queen of Northumberland, boasts seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms and a cinema.
