British director Guy Ritchie's father said his son's marriage to pop superstar Madonna is not in trouble and that the pair has no plans to split.

Thesun.co.uk reports that John Ritchie rebuffed reports that Madonna was going to leave her husband to return to the US. The two were seen together for the first time in weeks.

John said: 'They're happy. I was shocked when I read they were supposed to be having problems. They've been running around different places. That's why they haven't been seen together.'

Madonna has been doing promotional work for her upcoming album 'Hard Candy' and her husband has been working on a new film. They have been together for seven years and have three children.

John added: 'She won't be going out to America to live for good. They've got lovely places here.'
