According to reports, Wal-Mart would sell iPhone but no launch date or the terms were disclosed.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will become the second independent retail chain after Best Buy Inc. to sell the popular phone.
IPhone is also sold at Apple and AT&T stores.
Wal-Mart will sell iPhone for $2 less than the regular price with a two-year contract: $197 for the 8-gigabyte model, or $297 for the 16-gigabyte model.
According to the press release, Wal-Mart's price match policy will allow stores to “match the price of any local competitor’s advertised store price on the same item within the same promotional period.”
Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retail chain, finished its last fiscal year amazingly well, despite the financial crisis.
Best Buy is discounting the phone by $9.
What a great deal.
