MySpace is unsure how hackers managed to attack the popular online community.
Alicia Keys page has been hacked and infected with malware, according to Researchers at the Atlanta, GA Exploit Prevention Lab.
According to the group, many MySpace pages were hacked one of them belonging to the R&B singer.
When users visit the page and clicks on a link, they are automatically taken to a Chinese malware site co8cd.cn, dBTechno reported.
Users are also prompted to install a piece of code to view a video, which is reasonable considering it is an Alica Keys page. If they click yes, arootkit and DNS changer are installed, giving hackers full control over what you see on your browser and what you download.
Roger Thompson from the lab stated “They are going to catch a lot of people with this one. This is a very rich media page, as are mostMySpace pages. There is every expectation you are going to see a video … It’s not at all unreasonable to think you might have to install something.”
