Supermodel Beverly Peele Arrested for Identity Theft
Fashion model Beverly Peele has been arrested for reportedly charging her purchases on other people's credit cards.
Beverly Peele, 1990s supermodel, was accused of identity theft - stealing someone else's credit card numbers and then charging about $10,000 worth of furniture, a refrigerator, a washer and dryer, bedding and other items for her home.
Beverly Peele said she found a wallet in a supermarket and returned it to the owner. According to the police, before she did return the wallet, she apparently wrote down the numbers of owner's credit cards. Or maybe someone else did.
Beverly Peele was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of grand theft by access card, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Friday.
Beverly Peele, a prominent model most famous in 1990s, graced more than 250 covers and was featured in campaigns for Ralph Lauren, Donna Karen, Versace, Blue Marine, Prada, and Wonder Bra. She is expected in court on Thursday.
