Veteran rock singer Rod Stewart has proposed to his girlfriend, model Penny Lancaster, during the romantic holiday in Paris.

"I was stunned," Penny Lancaster told the Sun. “He had bought me the most amazing princess cut diamond engagement ring - classic and striking."

Rod Stewart proposed to Penny in the most romantic manner, on a bended knee at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The 60-year-old singer had flown Lancaster and her parents to Paris from London to celebrate her 34th birthday, reported Sky News.

Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster were dating for three years. According to the New York Post, the couple will make wedding plans once Stewart's divorce from model Rachel Hunter, who currently resides in London trying to revive her acting career, is finalized.

Apparently, Hunter is not happy to hear the engagement news: just a day after the couple announced their engagement, Hunter suggested Lancaster accepted the proposal for financial reasons.
