H&M Launches World Cup Fashion Collection

With the approach of this summer's World Cup in Germany, the H&M design team has created a World Cup collection with a high fashion quotient.

With the approach of this summer's World Cup in Germany, the H&M design team has created a World Cup collection with a high fashion quotient.

The soccer-inspired line includes garments and accessories for babies, children, teenagers, and men.

"Until now, the market hasn't carried chic clothes and accessories with soccer references," says Margareta van den Bosch, H&M's head of design.

"We know that many of our customers are interested in both fashion and soccer, and we think that even fashion-conscious soccer fans should look good during this summer's World Cup."

To communicate the right feel, the country-inspired garments and accessories have a somewhat retro look. The slightly trendier line for teenagers includes cool t-shirts in the latest cut and with different prints, tank tops for both him and her, caps, pins, flip-flops, bags, and more.

For gals, H&M has also created a trendy bikini collection featuring hipster bottoms and triangle tops. The more classic men's line features t-shirts, tank tops, underwear, flip-flops, caps, and sweatbands.

For babies, we have smart-looking onesies, t-shirts, and caps. Sleeveless dresses for girls, as well as t-shirts and tank tops with matching shorts, underwear, and accessories for boys complete the collection.

The World Cup collection will be available in most stores in H&M's 22 markets in Europe and North America by mid-May.

Color schemes and prints for the garments and accessories are derived from the classic soccer countries, such as Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Italy, and Germany.

H&M countries that have qualified for the finals will also be represented on some garments in the collection. These countries include The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and the United States.
