Shelter From the Storm T-Shirts Available at Winners

Canadian Women's Foundation kicks off campaign to stop violence against women with limited edition t-shirts.

Canadian Women’s Foundation, in partnership with Winners and HomeSense, is introducing a limited edition t-shirt to help raise funds for “Shelter from the Storm”, Canada’s only national fundraising campaign to support shelters for abused women and their children, and violence prevention programs that stop violence before it starts.

“Nearly 100,000 women and children in Canada sought refuge in a shelter last year. By purchasing a t-shirt, Canadians not only wear their support of the cause, but quite literally help to give shelter from the storm to thousands of women and their children who are escaping abuse,” says Beverley Wybrow, Executive Director of the Canadian Women’s Foundation.

Shelter from the Storm t-shirts* will be sold exclusively at Winners and HomeSense stores nationwide for $14.99 until May 15, 2006, with all net proceeds being donated directly to “Shelter from the Storm”.

Women’s shirts are available in coral, turquoise and black, in sizes small, medium and large. Men’s shirts are available in black and turquoise in size large.

“We are proud to kick-off this year’s fundraising efforts with these limited edition T-shirts to raise funds and build awareness for this important cause,” says Shannon Johnson, Winners/HomeSense Spokesperson.

Shelter from the Storm is the Canadian Women’s Foundation’s second national fundraising campaign to stop violence against women, and runs from April 18th to May 15th.

Canadians can make a secure donation any time during the campaign at BMO Bank of Montreal branches or online at www.stopviolence.ca.
