The Rare in Nature collection made its debut during L'Oréal Fashion Week in Toronto. Each diamond in the collection will take the Government of the Northwest Territories certification one step further by including - not only the information that verifies a stone was mined, cut and polished in Canada - but also the name of the Canadian diamond cutting and polishing expert who crafted each diamond.

This unique government issued certificate verifies the origin of each diamond as truly Canadian, meaning it was not simply mined in Canada, but also expertly crafted in Canada to a high quality of cut.

How to Pick a Perfect Diamond

Shopping for diamonds can be both exhilarating and challenging. The first, and most important step, is to learn what you like. What makes your heart skip? Take a look through magazines and go to fashion sites online.

Ask yourself if you prefer fancy shapes or rounds. Do you like one large stone or a collection of smaller cut gems? Do you admire intricate designs or classics? Would you rather wear diamond bracelets, rings, earrings, watches or necklaces? Honing in what gets you most excited will make it easier to find the diamonds meant for you.

You should know your budget before you shop. Diamonds are a long-term investment, and you can always add to your collection over time. The beauty of collecting diamonds is that they are timeless. Unfettered by fads, different pieces of diamond jewellery easily complement each other no matter when they are purchased.
