Filativa: Fila's Younger Sibling

Fila's new division, Filativa, launched last month with a collection of directional lifestyle looks aimed at women and men from 22 to 30 years old.

Whimsically named items include track pants and yoga outfits, with slightly fancier design than of original Fila. All items of the fusion collection can be used for sports or leisure, and most of them bear exotic geographical references.

Italian apparel company Fila is opening a pop-up store in the trendy Manhattan neighborhood known as NoLita. The promotional space has been designed to showcase the manufacturer's Filativa active line that fuses sports-inspired footwear and apparel with Italian design.

Visitors to the store, which will be open for a month, will be invited to paint designs on canvas, which will then be heat-pressed to a blank Filativa T-shirt.

“Who is Filativa?
Conceived in Italy.
Born in Guangdong.
Raised in New York.
Filativa is a citizen of the world.”

Quite promising beginning, we may add.
