The 11th Annual Gourmet Food & Wine Expo returns to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre as Canada’s biggest and best Food and Wine Tasting Event.
The 11th Annual Gourmet Food and Wine Expo is a unique opportunity to taste the new South Africa as well as over 1000 internationally renowned wines, beers and spirits, gourmet delicacies from local restaurateurs, a variety of professional cooking demonstrations, and attend over 40 educational wine seminars and tutorials.
South Africa takes centre stage as this year’s theme wine country. Celebrating ten years as a democracy and a wine industry that’s fully alive, honoured guests are South African vintners Chris Kelly of Hidden Valley and Razvan Macici of Nederburg Estate, one of the most beautiful vineyard landscapes and dynamic wine producing regions in the world.
The Martini Club and official juice sponsor Ocean Spray, are premiering the brand new Art of the Cocktail exhibit at this year’s Expo. This interactive cocktail experience will serve up over 30 sassy, sexy libations designed by Canada’s top mixologists and inspired by some of the best spirits and liqueurs in the world.
The Food Network Stage showcases professional cooking demonstrations throughout the weekend. Celebrity chef Jeff Suddaby, from 3 Guys and a Stove and author of Who’s Coming for Dinner, takes the stage each day as will NOW Magazine’s Nine of Dine Chefs of Distinction award winner and nominees; each will demonstrate their very own distinctive flair for the culinary arts.
Also welcomed are Chef Keith Griffin and Sous Chef Vidyadhara Shetty of the Cayman Islands Culinary Team and Chef Lawrence Alexander of the Chicken Farmers of Canada.
The Canadian Personal Chef Alliance will feature their top three chefs on the Food Network stage as well as promote their catering and educational services. As Canada’s largest organization of chefs and one of the fastest growing businesses in the country, they will be launching their new partnership with the world’s largest family owned winery California’s E&J Gallo, at the Expo. A special 400 square foot exhibit at the front of the Expo will offer visitors exclusive 30 minute presentations, pairing E&J Gallo’s fine wines with The Chef Alliance’s culinary stylings.
On the Expo floor this year is a special appearance by celebrity chef Christine Cushing sampling Pure by Christine Cushing, her brand new line Extra Virgin Olive Oils at the Brunello Imports exhibit Saturday from 1-3pm.
