FACE of Fashion 2005: Garden of Eden Meets Philanthropy

On April 14th, FACE of Fashion 2005 promises to delight Toronto style leaders and philanthropists alike with its fifth annual fundraiser to support FACE (Family Abuse Crisis Exchange).

Themed “Splendor” and presented by Transamerica Life Canada, Toronto’s prominent Distillery District will be transformed into a sexy, modern Garden of Eden, boasting organic and unique sculptures, a new twist to the old catwalk, soaring chandeliers, fabrics, dancers, music, cocktails and more:

Models will weave among guests - along a mystic garden path - displaying exclusive collections from Mackage, David Dixon, Bustle Clothing, Peros, 2(X)ist, Sister Underwear and Town Shoes

Dr. Draw will enchant guests with signature electric melodies. Dancers and performers will tempt men and women alike with sensuous performances.

Jeanne Becker, a long-time supporter of FACE, will host the fashion show segments. Toronto’s heroic firefighters will bravely donate modeling expertise and will perform a tempting lingerie scene with 2(X)ist.

Artistic floral sculptures donated from Toronto’s hottest designers will amaze guests. Designers include Eric Aragon (producing my “Fabulous Gay Wedding”), Jo-Ann Cragie (Visions Display Inc … an international award winner for event décor), Craig Crudz (Designing Trendz), Elizabeth Munroe (Elizabeth Munroe, the Distillery District), Fiori

Proceeds from the show benefit FACE – the Toronto affiliate for Dress For Success that provides free, excellent quality business attire and career counseling women trying to get off social assistance and re-enter the workforce. FACE currently helps 1,000 women each year and is a charity that runs almost entirely by local volunteers.

Other event highlights:
Silent auction, raffle draw, surprise bags.
Models for the show are provided by B&M and NAM
Guests will receive a gift bag of $100+ value
Complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres
Gifts/prizes include $2,000 shopping spree at HBC, $5,000 closet makeover, flat screen TV, weekend get-aways, jewellery, and many more.

Tickets can be purchased for online at www.face1.org. Early bird tickets are $65 or $75 on April 1st.

This year’s fundraising goal is $65,000. This goal will enable FACE to continue its clothing bank services and expand its counseling resources.
