To lower cholesterol levels it’s important to pay attention to exercise, and a proper diet that is low on foods that contain cholesterol and saturated fats. That means having more granola bars, vegetables, nuts and lean meat.
Studies show that plant sterols can lower bad cholesterol. Plant sterols can be consumed in various foods, such as many nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables. But for the recommended amount of sterols needed to lower cholesterol, you would need to eat an extraordinary amount of food – like 22 servings of Brussels sprouts or 70 large carrots. However, the recommended amount can be found in granola bars.
